SASKATCHEWAN DONORS SUPPORT LOCAL BREAST CANCER RESEARCH RAISING A RECORD $425,937
C95 Radio Marathon for Breast Cancer Research raised a record $425,937 for Cancer Foundation of Saskatchewan during today’s 12-hour live broadcast.
Krystle Pratt was diagnosed with a more rare and aggressive form breast cancer in October 2022 at age 36. She started treatment that November and is currently continuing immunotherapy infusions as part of her treatment plan. She shared her story during today’s broadcast.
“[The week I was diagnosed] was the worst week of my life,” Krystle explained. “Unfortunately, I am the fourth generation of women in my family to be diagnosed. I find this incredibly worrisome for my children because all three of them have a 50% chance of inheriting the pathogenic variant. Through awareness and fundraisers, I fight for their future.”
The community’s donations help brave individuals, like Krystle, live longer healthier lives with their families and will be used by the Cancer Foundation of Saskatchewan to support breast cancer research. It will help Saskatchewan Cancer Agency researchers find new treatments for those affected by breast cancer every year.
The public response was incredible and hundreds of people got involved and gave their heart to the cause. Thank you to our listeners, the survivors, corporate partners, community fundraisers, and everyone in Saskatchewan who donated generously.
Since it began, C95 Radio Marathon for Breast Cancer Research has raised more than 6.3 million dollars for breast cancer research with one hundred percent of proceeds staying in Saskatchewan.
The Cancer Foundation of Saskatchewan is the fundraising partner of the Saskatchewan Cancer Agency. Every dollar raised by the Foundation stays in the province supporting patient treatment and care, research, plus early detection and prevention programs.
