One of the Regina Catholic School Division’s high schools is moving to remote learning early due to COVID-19.

Archbishop M.C. O’Neill Catholic High School initially was to move to online instruction Monday, along with all of the other Catholic high schools in the city.

Instead, the division announced Wednesday night the school would be closed Thursday and students would study from home after a positive COVID case. Students are to continue learning remotely until April 1 before going on their Easter break.

The Catholic division also reported positive cases at Deshaye Catholic School, St. Peter School, St. Luke School and St. Augustine Community School. The impacted classrooms were closed at all three elementary schools, but the facilities were open Thursday.

Regina Public Schools also announced a case had been confirmed at Campbell Collegiate, M.J. Coldwell School and Henry Braun School.

Public high schools in the city closed for students Wednesday, with students shifting to online learning until April 1. Elementary schools are to move to remote instruction on Monday.
