A classroom at Ecole Wascana Plains School has been closed after a student tested positive for COVID-19.
Regina Public Schools said it was informed of the positive test Wednesday by the Saskatchewan Health Authority.
“For the safety of students and staff at Wascana Plains, and in consultation with Public Health, we have closed the affected classroom until November 9 and students in that classroom will be participating in remote learning until they return to school,” the school division said in a tweet.
“Affected families will be contacted directly regarding the classroom closure and remote learning.”
The division added the SHA will reach out to students and staff members who may have been in close contact with the individual who tested positive. Anyone who shows symptoms is urged to self-isolate and call HealthLine 811 to arrange for testing.
