What is the C95 Radio Marathon?

The C95 Radio Marathon for Breast Cancer Research began in October of 2000 when C95's Morning Show host, Lisa Rendall, was diagnosed with breast cancer. For over fifteen years, the C95 team has worked tirelessly to raise awareness within our community and funds for the Saskatchewan Cancer Agency Research Department. We have surpassed 3.9 million dollars since the since the Radio Marathon began, making it the largest and most successful fundraising event supporting the Saskatchewan Cancer Agency!

Every year, over 700 Saskatchewan women are diagnosed with breast cancer? It's one of the most common forms of cancer, and very treatable if detected early. Understanding how breast cancer develops and why it spreads is a key focus of the Saskatchewan Cancer Agency's research team at the Saskatoon Cancer Centre.

Fundraising is a fun way to bring your co-workers, friends and family together! Host an event in support of the C95 Radio Marathon! Maybe it’s a steak night at your favourite pub or maybe it’s a lunch time BBQ! Whatever you decide, we can help promote it.

Event Ideas!
There are many EASY ways to fundraise money and we’ve taken the liberty to list some ideas below! Get your office or school involved! Some of the ideas would be suitable for internal fundraising. In this case, we can help inspire your peers to donate and participate by providing some prizing.

  • Casual dress day: Hold a casual dress day (or week) and charge your co-workers to dress down! Or to dress in pink!
  • Bake sale: Bring in some baked goodies for a bake sale
  • BBQ: Host a BBQ in your parking lot! Charge a small fee for a burger and other goodies!
  • Car wash: Hold a car wash in the parking lot of your business
  • Craft sale: Have some of the crafty employees contribute
  • Auction for prizes: Auction off prizes in your office! Ideas might include auctioning off a prime parking spot in the parking lot or leaving early for the long weekend!
  • Wheel of prizes: Create a wheel, mark each section with a prize, and charge per spin
  • Pancake breakfast: Organize a pancake breakfast & ask for a donation for entry
  • Parking Lot Sale: Have employees contribute to an office yard sale
  • Bottle Drive – Collect bottles to take to your local recycling depot
